Teach Cursive Writing At Home With A Pen Pal Challenge
If you have children under the age of 30 then you probably already know that they did not learn how to write in script or cursive in school. I on the other hand decided to teach my daughter at home after she finished pre-school with a private teacher.
I am so glad I taught her cursive writing. She started by learning how to sign her name. i wrote it down and she copied it over and over again until she got it. I would also write in cursive in my cards to her. That was how she learned to read and write in cursive. I also bought the cursive writing pad at the store and wrote the alphabet down in cursive so she could copy it.
What You Can Do
Don't let cursive writing become a lost art in your house. Teach your child and grandchildren how to write in cursive by starting a pen pal letter writing challenge. When they go off to camp or on vacation send them a post card or letter by mail. Require, that they write you back in cursive.
It's fun and easy to come up with a variety of ways and styles for sending letters. Here are just a few of the ones you'll find in my Etsy shop, MarketsofSunshine. Pocket letter, stuffed envelopes, and more. If you liked this topic and want to stay in touch, please join my mailing list here.
